Dusty Georges has been part of Garage Door Specialists since 2002 and proudly serves as Owner/Operator. In addition to leading Garage Door Specialists, he is the co-owner of All About Doors and owner of Asheville Garage Door. After growing up in the family business founded by his father, Barry Georges, Dusty has continued building on that legacy while expanding the company to serve even more communities. His favorite part of the job is running the business and embracing the fast-paced, ever-changing challenges that come with it. Outside of work, Dusty enjoys playing poker and spending time with his family. He and his wife have two children, both of whom work alongside him in the family business, making it truly a multi-generational operation.

Growing up around the business gave her an appreciation for the hard work and craftsmanship that goes into every project, and today she enjoys working alongside her dad, Scott Benge, and her brother, Justin Benge. Being able to learn from them while helping customers each day makes her role especially meaningful. Outside of work, JJ's greatest joy is being a mom to her three children. Whether they're spending a sunny day in the water, enjoying dinner outside, or making memories together, family always comes first. In the fall, you'll find her under the Friday night lights as a proud football mom, cheering on her son, alongside her two daughters. Those evenings spent supporting her kids are some of her favorite moments and a reminder of what matters most.

One of his favorite memories is creating a drawing of a cardinal for his grandmother because it was her favorite bird. A few years later, she entered his artwork into a Catawba County contest, where it won first place. It is a memory and accomplishment that he still treasures today.

While she may have officially entered the garage door industry in 2017, garage doors have been part of her life for decades. Her uncle owned Overhead Door of Charlotte, and her husband, Lane Jones, spent years working in the industry before opening All About Doors in 2007 out of their home with just one commercial truck. Therese taught herself bookkeeping to help build the business from the ground up, and today she proudly works alongside the next generation, supporting her son Casey and the team that has grown from those early days. Her favorite part of the job is seeing the incredible before-and-after transformations completed by the technicians. She takes great pride in the craftsmanship of the team and loves watching each project come to life. Outside of work, Therese enjoys spending time with her family at the lake. She's the proud mom of two children and grandmother to two grandchildren. Looking back, she jokes that after hearing "door talk" her entire life, joining the family business was the best decision she ever made.

Jimmy Brogley was a valued member of the Garage Door Specialists family for 13 years, serving as a Lead Technician. Jimmy truly loved his job and took great pride in the work he did and the people he worked alongside.

More than anything, Jimmy was a family man. His love for his family was an important part of who he was, and that same loyalty and dedication could be seen throughout his years at GDS.

Jimmy passed away in 2022, but the impact he made on our company and the people who knew and worked with him will not be forgotten. He is dearly missed and will always be remembered as part of the GDS family.

Vanda was much more than a member of the Garage Door Specialists team. She was family. She knew Dusty from the time he was a teenager and, over the years, became like a grandmother to his children and a special part of the Georges family.

After working with the company on and off for several years, Vanda joined GDS full time in 2019 as a Service Coordinator. Anyone who spent time in the office knew there was always candy nearby when Vanda was around, and she had a way of making everyone feel cared for and welcome.

Vanda loved Jesus deeply, and that love showed in the way she treated everyone around her. When she passed away in 2025, GDS lost not only a wonderful employee, but someone who had been part of the family for many years. She is deeply missed, and the love and kindness she shared with all of us will never be forgotten.

Lane Jones

He started his career in 1990 working in Charlotte, NC at a family owned garage door business. Lane started as a warehouse helper pulling and stocking orders. He quickly moved up through the ranks to become a lead man within 2 years as a commercial installer and service technician. He remained in that position for 10 plus years, when he was given the opportunity to apply for the position of Operations Manager of a sister company. Lane then transferred that knowledge to become Operations Manager of a locally owned garage door company in Catawba County, NC. In 2007, Lane decided to open All About Doors. Lane and his wife, Therese, ran All About Doors for five years out of their home and garage along with their sons Casey and Alex Jones. During the early years of All About Doors, Lane and Dusty became friends and eventually talked about the idea of merging the companies. In January 2012, Lane and Dusty opened All About Doors, LLC as the commercial division of Garage Door Specialists. Lane retired in 2021 after a long career in the garage door industry and now enjoys spending time with his family and granddaughter.
